Some call them tricks, others illusions, magicians usually use the word “effect” with each other. I’m not so concerned with what you call what I do; I’m much more interested with the feeling that experience evokes.

As a magician for parties, I often have the pleasure of performing at bar mitzvahs and bat mitzvahs. I love when guests are so excited the family invited a magician and I can blow them away. In performing at many bar/bat mitzvahs I’ve found a few key entertainment ideas that take the night to the next level.

While some great documentaries have come out in the last decade featuring many magicians or a magical event, I’d like to recommend three that put one magician in focus.
